What is Shop The Nest?

Shop the Nest is a high-end, well-edited consignment décor site, specializing in selling new, nearly new and one-of-a-kind vintage pieces at great prices. We carefully select all items from top interior designers and home furnishings retailers and sell them directly to you. As an added bonus, items online are often showcased at our retail location store in Rye, NY so you can see, touch and feel them in person unlike many other online décor sites. We are conveniently located just 20 miles north of NYC.

How do I list something on Shop The Nest?

If you have a great item you’d like to list for sale and are a member of the Design Trade (interior designer, architect, retailer, manufacturer or home décor stylist, etc.), please click here to submit a Design Partner Application. We'll be happy to send you information on our sales program.

How do I receive my items?

We have a dedicated team of dependable white-glove delivery services within the NY/CT/NJ/Hamptons area. We can work with you to arrange a local shipper to bring it directly to your home. Or, you are always welcomed to pick up an item if its convenient free of charge for the instant gratification we all crave!

Most items are safely stored in our off-site warehouse, while some pieces are highlighted in our spacious retail store in Rye, NY where you are welcome to come see, sit in and touch items unlike other online sites.

We schedule a weekly delivery of items in the immediate area to help keep delivery costs for you as low as possible. If you need something before the next scheduled delivery day, we can assist with that as well for an additional fee.

Can I pick up items?

Yes! The location of all items are including on their listing. If it’s located at a designer, studio or retail location near where you are, we are happy to help set up a mutually convenient time for you to pick it up complimentary of course. We ask that you inspect it well during pickup to ensure it meets your complete satisfaction before taking it home.

Do you allow returns?

Once you have received an item, you have 48 hours in which to let us know if you need a return. If you are picking up an item in person, we ask that you inspect it completely before you take it. Costs for sending items back are the responsibility of the purchaser. Items purchased on Blue Bird Specials and Fly The Nest specials are final sale.

What if an item is not as described?

We want you to love everything you buy from Shop The Nest.

We work closely with our Design Partners to ensure that everything listed on our site is clearly and correctly described so you get what you want and expect. Many items listed are also available to see and touch in person at our retail store, Nest Inspired Home, in Rye, New York.

If, for any reason, you are not happy with a purchase when you receive it, please call or e-mail us with 48 hours and we will work with you to organize a return. If the item was not as described or arrived damaged, we will pay for return delivery or shipping. Otherwise, the return costs are yours to pay.

If you are picking up your item, we ask that you don’t take it home unless you are fully satisfied with it so we know you are happy with your items.

What happens if something is scratched or damaged?

We only use insured delivery companies to avoid any damage in transit. Once you receive your purchases, we ask the driver to wait while you inspect it closely and let us know of any damages while they are still at your location. If an item gets damaged during transit on its way to you, we are happy to take the item back and refund your charges.

Is everything on the site new or vintage?

Everything on the site is clearly marked as New, Nearly New or Vintage. We work with our Design Partners to ensure a well-edited site so everything on Shop The Nest is worthy of your time and your home.

Is everything in perfect condition?

If an item is truly special but is well loved and has a few nicks or scrapes, we occasionally list it but will have photographs clearly showing any imperfections. These are some of the best deals on the site if you are willing to overlook minor damage. All items that are floor models are sold as is.
